Nicole Diggins Locher

Nicole is an Independent Educational Consultant who is passionate and committed to helping students with learning differences find their right path so that their dreams can soar and Take Flight.

Specializing in students with: 

  • Dyslexia and Language Based Learning Disabilities

  • ADHD

  •  Executive Functioning challenges

  • High Functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder 

 

She takes a strategic and strengths based approach to help each student discover their unique learning needs and find their best fit educational setting in two areas:

  • College Admissions Consulting for High School Students

  • Executive Function Coaching

Nicole values the unique gifts of neurodiverse learners and sees their creative problem solving and out-of-the-box thinking as vital in the classroom, the workplace and in our society. She has helped many neurodiverse students and their families navigate the complexities and challenges of identifying their unique learning needs and working collaboratively and effectively to help students realize their true learning potential.

Throughout the college admissions coaching process, Nicole is dedicated to empowering students to: 

  • Understand who they are as learners

  • Find their strengths, passions and determination and channel them into their college search 

  • Explore and find schools that fit their unique learning profiles, needs and educational goals

She has two neurodiverse students of her own and is the Co-Founder and former Chair of the Dyslexia Parents Group of Lexington, MA, supporting parents with children with language based learning differences and collaborating with the school district to effect change and better outcomes for students.  

 

Nicole also brings over 15 years of experience as a strategic marketing professional in the biotech, consumer goods, healthcare and non-profit industries to her educational consulting practice

 

Nicole is a graduate of UC Berkeley with a degree in English Literature and has taught English on the JET (Japan Exchange & Teaching) Program to Japanese high school and middle school students in Yokohama.

 

She is an Associate Member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association, the Learning Disabilities Association of America. She is trained as an Executive Functioning Coach on the Seeing My Time® program, and as a Special Education Advocate throughout the Federation for Children with Special Needs
